RCMP have made an arrest in connection with a historical sexual assault case dating back to 1989.
In April 2015, an adult man contacted the RCMP to file a report of a sexual assault. The victim was a minor when the alleged incident occurred.
On Oct. 3, 65-year-old Ernest Rist was arrested at his home in Theodore. He is charged with one count of sexual assault.
Rist made his first court appearance Monday. His next appearance will be Thursday.
In a news release, RCMP said there might be more victims out there and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
