A man and woman landed in cuffs after Saskatoon police interrupted their afternoon crime spree.
Around 4 p.m. Saturday, a man and woman said a vehicle pulled up beside them near Kirk Crescent and Main Street in Greystone Heights. One of the people in the van had a knife and demanded money. When the man refused to hand over anything, the car left.
A second similar event happened around 6:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of Munroe Avenue. This time the victims said it was a man and woman in the car with a machete. Ten minutes later, another call came in about a similar robbery in the 3000 block of Arlington Avenue, but this time the victims were able to give a license plate number.
At 7 p.m. a young woman was assaulted and robbed in the 1500 block of 8th Street East.
A few moments later, officers spotted the car on Wilson Crescent in Nutana Park. An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old woman from Saskatoon were arrested and a large machete-type weapon and numerous stolen items were seized.
Some of the stolen things were linked to a break and enter of a Rosewood home earlier that evening.
Police are still investigating but the man and woman are expected to face numerous charges including robbery, possession of weapons, threats, and possession of stolen property.
