Pair charged after Regina officer bear sprayed following pursuit

A man and woman both face a long list of charges after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in Regina Monday night, and pepper spraying an officer.

The pair were in a vehicle that tried to flee police; officers had been trying to pull it over because it didn’t have a licence plate. The pursuit took officers to the Glen Elm area where an officer was sprayed by the suspects who then stole a taxi cab from its driver.

Charges have now been laid against 28-year-old Chelsea Brooke Colegrave and 20-year-old Aaron Joseph Brass.

Colegrave faces charges of:

• flight while being pursued by a peace officer
• assaulting a police officer with a weapon
• resisting arrest
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• robbery with violence
• possession of methamphetamine

Brass is charged with:

• two counts of flight while being pursued by a peace officer
• assaulting a police officer with a weapon
• two counts of resisting arrest
• possession of a prohibited weapon
• possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• robbery with violence
• possession of methamphetamine
