The government of Saskatchewan wants to hear from residents on how it handled the 2015 wildfire season.
“This summer, northern Saskatchewan people faced an unprecedented emergency situation,” Government Relations Minister Jim Reiter said. “Thankfully, we had no had no serious injuries or lives lost and were able to limit property damage throughout the north. Now, it’s important for us to listen to those most affected and see if we can make improvements.”
The public feedback is part of the government’s comprehensive review into the wildfire response.
The review is based on three main factors:
- internal operations review
- meeting with northern leaders, northern emergency management teams and industry
- online survey for the public
The survey can be completed online. Hard copies will be available at all northern municipal and band offices, as well as the Northern Municipal Services Office in La Ronge.
