Home sales continue to level off in major cities across Canada turning markets like Saskatoon and Regina into a buyer’s market.
A snapshot from Conference Board of Canada shows 17 out of 28 markets in Canada reported a monthly decrease between August and September including Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Listings were also down in 17 markets where data was available and nine markets reported a drop of at least five per cent.
In Regina the housing market saw a drop of 1.4 per cent over August and September, but annual sales have dipped 19.2 per cent. Saskatoon has seen an identical decrease with a 0.9 per cent drop in September and a 19 per cent annual decrease in home sales.
The year-over-year projections predict prices will continue to fall for Regina and Saskatoon.
