Two people from Alberta are facing charges after fleeing from RCMP in a stolen vehicle in Shaunavon on Friday.
RCMP say a vehicle reported stolen from Redcliff, AB was first spotted in Shaunavon Friday morning. Mounties soon learned that a 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck had also been stolen from a home in Shaunavon.
Mounties tracked down the stolen truck later that morning in Shaunavon. A man – the passenger in the vehicle – was arrested. However, the woman driving the truck fled from the scene. RCMP say an officer was hurt in the process.
The woman drove the truck on Highway 37 toward Gull Lake where she was spotted by officers. She refused to pull over, and continued driving at high speeds down grid roads and through fields.
The truck broke down as it tried to cross a field and the woman was arrested.
