They came to break up a fight, but police ended up walking away from a home in Regina’s east end on Saturday morning with a man in cuffs on drug charges.
It happened around 8:45 a.m. at a house on La Belle Place, just north of Arcola Avenue and Ring Road.
According to the Regina Police Service, a 54-year-old man went to the house to confront a 24-year-old man. They fought, and the 54-year-old was threatened with a stun baton.
The police were called and said they saw marijuana in plain sight. So they got a search warrant for the house, and ended up finding a stun baton, along with 175 grams of marijuana.
Brandon Mitchell Lappa-Pickard, 24, was arrested. He is charged with assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and possession of marijuana.
His first appearance in court on these charges will be Dec. 16.
