Rain to change to snow Tuesday night in southern Saskatchewan

Much of southern Saskatchewan remained under a special weather statement Tuesday morning as rain and snow is expected to start falling.

Environment Canada issued the statement Sunday night, for a large portion of the province’s southeast corner, including the Assiniboia, Carlyle, Estevan, Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle, Humboldt, Kamsack, Moose Jaw, Moosomin, and Yorkton areas. By Tuesday morning, parts of southwest Saskatchewan were included in the statement, including Swift Current, Shaunavon, Maple Creek and Cypress Hills.

The forecast has remains the same with Environment Canada forecasting rain to start falling late Tuesday, changing to wet snow overnight and into Tuesday. However, the southwest may only see rain into Wednesday morning.

The statement is still calling for five to 10 centimetres, or two to four inches, of snow.
