Rent reduced for Riders, early budget items approved by Regina Council

Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
Snow arrived in southern Saskatchewan early Wednesday morning, though there wasn’t much collecting on the ground.
“We’ve got snow. The ground is warm. The air has been above freezing so a lot of it’s melting on contact,” explained CJME weather specialist John Wilson.
“The real question is how much snow does it take before it begins to stick.”
Environment Canada’s special weather statement remained in effect Wednesday morning. It said most areas along the TransCanada Highway saw two to four centimetres of snow fall overnight, with another couple centimetres expected to fall though the morning.
Wilson doesn’t expect to see snow stick until Wednesday evening when temperatures get colder, but with the snow mixed with rain, there won’t be a lot on the ground.
Despite the snowfall, the next few weeks of November look fairly good.
“Although it doesn’t get to double digits on the weekend or anything, it does come back very nicely. Friday will be chilly, a high of -1 C. And then it’s up to 3 C Saturday, 7 C, both sunny.”
