A 76-year-old woman is dead after a fatal crash in the Yorkton area on Tuesday morning.
RCMP were called to the scene of a serious crash involving three vehicles on Highway 9 north of Ebenezer at 10:22 a.m. The 76-year-old woman died at the scene and four other people were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not considered to be serious.
The initial investigation shows that the 76-year-old woman was driving northbound on Highway 9 in a car. The car appears to have crossed over the centre line into oncoming traffic hitting a truck going southbound.
Right after the first crash an SUV heading southbound also hit the car with the 76-year-old woman.
Two women who were in the truck were taken to the hospital along with a man and a woman who were in the SUV. Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
RCMP officers on the scene said the road conditions were very poor in the area around the time of the crash.
Traffic was delayed for several hours on Tuesday during the investigation.
