A video has now emerged of the meteor that lit up the sky (and social media) in Saskatchewan.
Bill Allen happened to capture a picture of the meteor Sunday night in the Weyburn area. The photo has been shared thousands of times on social media.
A video has now been sent to News Talk Radio showing the meteor. It’s security camera footage from Shellbrook.
A University of Saskatchewan astronomy professor explained that the meteor is remnants of an old comment. Shards of the comet produce the Taurid meteor shower, an annual cosmic event, which reaches its peak this week.
Just saw a crazzzzzy meteor over #yqr . Super bright. Thought it was a plane going down at first!
