The bail terms have changed for one of two men charged after police raided an unlicensed medical marijuana dispensary in Saskatoon last month.
Lane Britnell is now allowed to obtain and produce marijuana derivatives, like capsules and oils, for his own personal use. Court heard how Britnell requires them for a medical condition.
The 24-year-old fitness trainer has Crohn’s disease and has written a blog where he describes how cannabis helped him recover from colon surgery and how he uses it instead of pharmaceuticals.
He also posted online that he had recently started working at the Saskatchewan Compassion Club.
Britnell and the club’s owner, Mark Hauk, are out on bail and made their second appearances in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Thursday. Their cases were adjourned to next month, when they will appear alongside two women who also face charges in connection to the raid.
