There is still no plea from a man facing charges in connection to a fatal crash that claimed the lives of three teenage boys last spring.
Normand Lavoie, 38, was not present when the case came up Tuesday morning at Melfort Provincial Court.
Lavoie is the driver being charged in the deadly crash which happened in May 2015, near Spalding. Three high school boys from Carrot River on their way home from a football training camp were in a car stopped at a construction zone. A semi heading north hit the car from behind.
The momentum pushed the car into a second vehicle which in turn hit a flag person.
Lavoie, who is from Winnipeg, faces three charges of criminal negligence causing death and one charge of negligence causing bodily harm.
His lawyer says they want to wait to see how a similar case plays out in Weyburn, before proceeding. The case has been adjourned to Jan. 7.
