Wednesday’s weather had people thinking of winter, but the city’s emergency services is warning Regina residents to stay off the ice.
It’s barely been cold enough for ice to form, but there have already been calls to Regina Fire and Protective Services and Regina police about people going out on to residential lakes.
They’re warning people to stay off of ice unless they have been told it’s safe and it’s been cleared for recreational use. That includes Wascana Lake and creek, storm channels, detention ponds, and residential lakes.
Fire and Protective Services in Regina is asking people to keep their dogs away from ice, and to talk to their kids about staying off of ice.
