RCMP believe a rash of bank robberies in rural Saskatchewan are connected.
The latest one occurred Thursday afternoon when a bank was robbed in the community of Lang — about 68 km south of Regina.
RCMP believe that robbery is related to other recent ones in Grenfell, Vibank, and Sedley. In all four incidents, an adult man enters the bank and passes a note demanding money to an employee. Investigators have determined the man leaves the bank and walks to an unknown vehicle parked several streets away.
In three of the robberies, the suspect wore a helmet with a visor. During the Grenfell robbery, the suspect wore a mask over his face.
During these robberies, the man displayed the same mannerisms and used the same methods:
- Producing a note demanding money
- Demanding the money without using a weapon
- Leaves the bank on foot
- Returns to an unknown vehicle parked several streets away from the bank
Anyone with information about these robberies is asked to contact Saskatchewan RCMP at 306-780-7127 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
