A herd of Buffalo is on the loose in the Rural Municipality of Barrier Valley.
The herd, estimated to be as large as 100 animals, has been seen crossing portions of Highway 35, approximately 25 to 30 kilometres south of Tisdale.
The buffalo have also been seen on grid roads in and around the area.
Tisdale RCMP have issued a road hazard warning.
The RM of Barrier Valley is working on a plan to corral the buffalo to eliminate the risk to the public and motorists. They’re asking that the public refrain from chasing or scaring the animals as this will make capturing and corralling them much more difficult.
If anyone encounters the herd, they are asked to call the RM office at (306) 323-2101 and provide the location.
The Tisdale RCMP detachment is encouraging motorists to drive with care and take extra precautions until this situation is resolved.
