The Saskatchewan Roughriders will have three of their four finalists for their general manager position working under one roof.
Vice president of football operations and general manager, Chris Jones, has hired John Murphy and is retaining Jeremy O’Day to be his assistant vice president of football operations.
Murphy joins the Riders after spending the last six seasons helping John Hufnagel find talent for the Calgary Stampeders.
Murphy has a tremendous track record in scouting and bringing in quality CFLers. He will be tasked with player personnel.
Jones will also keep Jeremy O’Day to be in charge of the administration side of the football operations department.
O’Day was quite open about wanting the gig Jones was hired for but after meeting with Jones, O’Day has decided to stay on with a new title from assistant general manager to assistance vice president.
