Sentenced to six years, a Regina man is headed to prison for sexually assaulting a pregnant teen last year.
Daniel Maier was found guilty earlier in December of attacking and sexually assaulting the teen in June 2014 on Winnipeg Street, though he was found not guilty of sexual assault with a weapon.
On Wednesday, Maier was sentenced to six years in jail, but with credit for time served, the net sentence comes out to four years and five months going forward. He will also be placed on the sex offender registry for 20 years.
Maier suffers from schizophrenia, but was not taking his medication for it at the time of the attack.
