A 19-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman have been sentenced for kidnapping and assaulting a teenage boy in North Battleford in June over a drug debt.
Last week, Garth Iron received a six-year prison sentence in North Battleford provincial court. Stephanie Sample was sentenced to four years. Both Iron and Sample were given credit for time spent in remand.
The two were arrested along with three youths after the teenage victim was found by police with injuries.
Court heard that the boy was bound, gagged, hit with tools and threatened with a pellet gun in the basement of the Capitol Theatre the night of June 4, and that Iron was involved.
The statement said Sample’s role was to drive the group, with the victim in the trunk, into the country where the boy was left tied up in a shallow hole. He was able to free himself and walk to a farmhouse.
