A section of Highway 48 was shut down as RCMP responded to a call about a domestic violence situation in White City early Wednesday morning.
Mounties were called to a home on McKenzie Point Crescent at 12:30 a.m. RCMP say a suicidal 36-year-old man had barricaded himself in the home, and there was another man and woman in the home with him.
The F Division Emergency Response Team and RCMP negotiators assisted the White Butte RCMP. Highway 48 was also closed between Highway 1 and Lott Road East until about 4:30 a.m.
RCMP say the man surrendered himself to police and no one was hurt.
