A Saskatchewan family is showing their appreciation for those who risk their lives on a daily basis to keep us safe.
The Knelsen family recently saw some Yorkton firefighters working in the cold. The five children decided to sell their doll house. They got $60 for it and used the money to buy a gift for the firefighters.
“We went to the store and we bought meat and cheese, veggies, and buns and holiday baking,” said nine-year-old Haley Knelsen, the oldest out of the five kids.
After purchasing the food, they went to the fire hall.
“(The firefighters) said thank you and nobody ever brought Christmas presents to us like that,” Knelsen said.
“We wanted to help out, we wanted to be really nice, and they do lots of working.”
Knelsen said she is happy to help out others this holiday season.
