A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with Regina’s eighth murder of 2015.
The youth, who cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with second-degree murder. He is accused of killing 48-year-old Matthew John Wells. Wells’ body was found in the early morning hours of Oct. 22 in the 1500 block of Robinson Street.
The youth is also facing charges related to two separates incidents that occurred on the same night.
Just after police found Wells dead, gun shots were fired at an apartment in the 2200 block of Robinson Street. No one was hurt. Also, police believe a reported arson and theft from a vehicle that night is connected with the other incidents.
The 15-year-old will make his first court appearance on a number of charges Thursday.
