Several people were taken to hospital Friday afternoon after a head-on collision in northern Saskatchewan near Black Lake.
According to an RCMP news release, an impaired driver lost control of a small car on Highway 905 and crashed head-on with an oncoming half-ton truck. The impact was so strong the car was split in half.
RCMP attended to the scene and provided first aid medical care.
When nursing staff from Black Lake got there, they found the driver of the car didn’t regain consciousness and was medivac’d to Saskatoon.
Other people in the vehicles were taken to hospital in Stony Rapids.
An RCMP Traffic Analyst was called in to help the Stony Rapids Detachment in the ongoing investigation.
