It took a police dog to end a police pursuit through the Saskatoon’s west side.
At around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, police say a 37-year-old man fled police when they tried to pull him over in the 400 block of Avenue H South. Police later found the suspect vehicle a few blocks west on Appleby Drive where they laid down spike strips to stop the vehicle. A police dog had to finish the job after the man abandoned the car.
The suspect was treated in hospital for dog bites. He faces charges of evading police, dangerous driving and possession of methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
