Saskatchewan’s premier has some advice for those who are worried about the economic troubles facing the world at the beginning of a new year.
Stock markets are plunging, oil prices and the dollar continue to fall, but Brad Wall says we can all take comfort in the fact we live in Saskatchewan.
“We have a comparatively strong economy that is still adding jobs, that is attracting new people to live in the province, and we have the lowest unemployment rate in the country,” he said.
Wall says there were 7,200 new jobs created in 2015, November to November.
He admits there are significant job losses in the oil industry, but says that is being counterbalanced by other areas of growth.
