The tray refusal at the Regina Correctional Centre is over.
All inmates accepted their lunch after protesting the quality of food.
Over the last 24 hours,114 inmates refused the food provided by Compass Group Canada.
It was a similar situation at the end of last year when raw eggs were served.
It appears some of the complaints are being resolved.
“I think there was an acknowledgement that the facilities director and the team there have been very clear that they’re focused on the quality of the food and the consistency of the food and making sure Compass delivers on that,” explains Drew Wilby with the Ministry of Corrections.
Given the extra resources food provider Compass group has been given, Wilby hopes this is the end of the matter.
