A Saskatchewan RCMP officer who pleaded guilty to sexual assault will not serve jail time.
Const. Randy McKay appeared in court in Dillon on Wednesday. Dillon is a small community roughly 600 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
The incident happened at a house in Dillon on May 20. McKay was off duty at the time.
He was given a 12-month conditional sentence. He also received a $100 fine and was ordered to submit a DNA sample to a national database.
When the investigation was initiated last June, McKay had been working in Buffalo Narrows and was suspended with pay.
RCMP would not comment on what his current status is with the force.
A meeting was scheduled for Thursday to discuss the matter.
