Regina is one of six Canadian markets that saw real estate sales drop more than five per cent in December.
The Conference Board of Canada says half of the housing markets covered in its Metro Resale Snapshot recorded a decrease in sales last month. A news release notes that the dip in most markets was small.
Regina, Edmonton, Hamilton, Windsor, Kingston and Halifax all saw decreases of more than five per cent. Regina recorded a month-to-month decrease of 11.1 per cent. The Queen City also reported a 26.3 per cent dip in the number of listings year over year.
Saskatoon, meanwhile, saw sales decrease 4.6 per cent month over month. Listings fell 20.9 per cent year over year.
The report indicates that prices in Saskatoon are expected to increase up to three per cent, while prices in Regina are expected to fall.
