The $1.33M rent reduction comes from what the club owed during seasons impacted by the pandemic.
The calendar might read January, but spring is in the air in Regina.
The signs of spring are everywhere. Vehicles splash by on slushy streets and downspouts gush water from melting snow. Some people walk by wearing shorts. It’s nothing like the regular stinging cold outside which would hold the Queen City in an icy grip this time of year.
“Yeah, I think it’s March or the beginning of April,” joked Trynda Wilderman.
She and her family were downtown skating on the ice in Victoria Park late Friday morning.
“It’s very sticky,” she laughed.
But that’s just a small price to pay, considering any other January taking her children outside is not an easy option.
“We got two little boys so staying inside is probably more ideal.”
The mercury hit above zero on Friday, part of a recent unusual winter warm up. The normal temperatures for this time of year, according to Environment Canada are between -10 C and -22 C. The record high is 5.6 C set back in 1931.
