RCMP took an abundance of caution Sunday as they checked on a man in Oxbow after learning there may be explosives or firearms in the home he was in.
Mounties received a call at 11:45 a.m. from someone concerned about the well-being of a 25-year-old man in Oxbow. RCMP discovered there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest after he failed to make a court appearance on Jan. 13 for theft charges.
RCMP also learned that the home the man was in on Walsh Avenue may have explosives or firearms.
The RCMP took to Twitter on Sunday warning the public to stay away from the area and not reveal information on where officers were in the community.
