An early morning joyride has put two men in hospital and a third in custody.
Regina police said they received a call at 5:43 a.m. Friday about a single vehicle crash. It happened in the area where 4th Avenue turns into Ross Avenue.
According to Regina police, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle struck a curb, a sawhorse, a traffic sign, a chain link fence and a tree before coming to a stop near the Regina Fire and Protective Services’ training facility.
The driver allegedly left the scene, leaving a 28-year-old man and 23-year-old man behind. The two passengers suffered some broken bones and other injuries which are not considered life threatening.
Police were able to find the alleged driver, David Peigan, 24 a short time later. He is facing two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and two counts of exceed .08 causing bodily harm.
Peigan will make his first court appearance on Feb. 23.
