Low snow pack means low runoff expected in Sask. this spring

The warm, dry winter has left most of Saskatchewan with a blow normal snow pack, leading to the Water Security Agency to forecast a below normal runoff this spring.

While most of the province will see a below normal runoff, the area north of Yorkton up to Hudson Bay and west to Nipawin has a normal snow pack, and could see normal runoff.

A release from the Water Security Agency says even with a blow normal runoff, surface water supplies should still be adequate for the year. Forecasts for the spring show normal precipitation levels are expected, as well as above-normal temperatures which could bring an earlier spring runoff.
