A man police consider to be armed and dangerous is still on the loose in Saskatchewan after a break and enter earlier this week.
Wayne Babiuk is wanted in connection to the break and enter at a rural home northwest of Swan Plain on Tuesday. Swan Plain is just north of Norquay on Highway 8.
Police say the suspect made death threats against the home owners who knew him. Two guns were also stolen from the home. He also allegedly made threats against police and caused damage to a vehicle and the house with a baseball bat.
Babiuk is facing charges for uttering death threats, break and enter, possession of a firearm, mischief, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and breach of undertaking. A warrant is out for his arrest.
Police issued a warning to the public Tuesday night not to approach Babiuk because he may be armed and dangerous. However, RCMP didn’t release information as to why until Thursday.
Babiuk is described as 6’, 200 lbs with brown hair and green eyes. He may be driving a red 1998 Ford F150 Supercab 4 WD truck with Saskatchewan licence plate 077 HTP. He is known to live a transient lifestyle and take shelter in abandoned buildings or sheds.
Anyone with information about Babiuk is asked to contact Kamsack RCMP at 1-306-542-5568 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
