The RCMP is once again inviting the public to help name its newest canine recruits.
Mounties invite children 14 years old or younger to help name 13 German Shepherd puppies that will be born at the Police Dog Service Training Centre this year.
The 2016 Name the Puppy Contest asks for names that start with “J” that could be used for male or female pups. The name can have no more than nine letters and must be one or two syllables.

The winning names will be chosen by staff at the training centre. The winners will receive a photo of the puppy they named, a plush dog and an RCMP cap.
The deadline for entries is March 22.
