The RCMP is investigating a violent incident that happened in Weyakwin on Saturday
A 22-year-old woman who had been stabbed numerous times was found inside a home. The woman was transported by ambulance to Prince Albert Victoria Hospital and then later transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
The woman’s injuries are not considered life threatening.
With assistance from the public, RCMP arrested the suspect without incident in Weyakwin. Matthew Warren Lavallee, 26, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
He was scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
RCMP have said the suspect and the victim know each other.
