Saskatoon police have arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly stole and crashed a car early Saturday morning.
Around 5:30 a.m. officers spotted a car that matched a stolen vehicle description they received earlier. As they followed the car to confirm if it was the one they were looking for, the driver pulled into an alley and hit a parked car at 19th Street West and Avenue R South.
The man inside was arrested without incident and police found a sawed off shotgun and machete in the car.
The man faces charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and weapons offenses. He will stay in custody until he is seen by a Justice of the Peace.
