There were a lot of zeros on the screen when a Swift Current couple checked their Western 649 ticket at the end of February.
Terry and Carol Gordon won two million dollars in the Feb. 27 draw.
“I was watching the weather on TV at about 10 to 6, and I checked the winning numbers,” Terry said. “I had to check a couple more times before I could really believe it.”
Carol scanned the ticket with her smartphone and confirmed the win.
“We started jumping up and down and hugged each other – we won two million dollars!” said Carol.
A release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation says the couple plans to put some of the money away for their retirement, as well as use some to help out family and friends.
