The Saskatchewan New Democrats have quickly filled a gap in their candidate list for the April 4 election.
During the first official week of the election campaign, the NDP lost four candidates. On Thursday, Clayton Wilson was dropped as the candidate for Saskatoon Northwest due to inappropriate comments made in the past on social media. The following morning, the NDP announced Weyburn-Big Muddy hopeful Mark Jeworski had resigned citing personal reasons. Then on the weekend, party leader Cam Broten announced that two more of their candidates were being removed for inappropriate social media posts – Cameron Robock, candidate for Estevan, and Terry Bell, candidate for Regina Walsh Acres.
On Monday morning, the party announced that four women have been named as the candidates for those ridings.
Dennel Pickering will be the candidate for Saskatoon Northwest, Gloria Patrick is running in Regina Walsh Acres, Tina Vuckovic will run in Estevan, and Karen Wormsbecker will be on the ballot in Weyburn-Big Muddy.
