A large piece of farm equipment has struck an overpass in Saskatoon as it was being hauled by a semi truck.
The truck was hauling a cultivator northbound in the east lane of Highway 11 around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. The cultivator turned out to be too tall to get under the overpass at Circle Drive, damaging the concrete and leaving debris strewn along the road.
As of 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, police had closed off the east lane heading northbound on Highway 11. Structural engineers were also brought in to assess the overpass and ensure it’s still safe to carry traffic.
Charges are pending under city bylaws.
No injuries were reported.
