Damage is pegged at $300,000 following a house fire in the Dundonald neighbourhood Wednesday night.
Fire crews were called to Kirkpatrick Court shortly before 11 p.m. When they arrived heavy smoke and flames were showing on the main level.
Two people inside were alerted by a smoke detector and got out safely. However, one of the family cats did not survive.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
