One man is in hospital and another is in police custody following a stabbing on the James Smith First Nation Saturday evening.
Melfort RCMP responded to a call on the reserve around 5:30 p.m. The 30-year-old victim was taken to Melfort Hospital with one stab wound then transferred to Saskatoon by STARS. RCMP said he is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Two hours after the stabbing, RCMP arrested a 32-year-old man in connection to the incident.
RCMP Major Crime North, RCMP Prince Albert General Investigations Section, Tisdale Forensic Identification Section, and RCMP Prince Albert Police Dog Services are investigating.
