Regina city council will have golf and dog parks on its agenda Tuesday night.
The mayor and councillors will decide whether to add up to another six off-leash dog parks. Three would be fenced parks, with one each located in the south, north and east. Up to another three unfenced off-leash parks could be tested as part of a pilot program next year.
As well, council will discuss whether to throw in a bid to host an LPGA event in the the 2018 Canadian Pacific Women’s Open. Two years ago, council voted to place a bid to host this year’s event. However, that was ultimately awarded to Calgary. Now, the Queen City will decide whether to take another swing at trying to attract the event here.
If approved, the city would be willing to contribute $100,000 towards the event.
*Note: a previous version of this story referred to city council voting on Monday. While normal city council meetings are on Monday nights, this week the meeting has been moved to Tuesday.
