Saskatoon police are investigating a nearly seven-hour disturbance involving 24 inmates at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre.
Spokesperson with the Ministry of Corrections and Policing, Drew Wilby, said the high-secure unit of the jail remained in lockdown Tuesday afternoon to allow officers to collect statements from inmates and staff.
The disturbance started around 7:30 a.m. and came to a “peaceful end” around 2 p.m., Wilby said. There were some minor injuries, but Wilby couldn’t provide any information about the nature of the disturbance.
He said police will decide if any charges will be laid.
