Princess Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues, was blocked off for several hours into the evening on Tuesday as police looked into the death of a man.
People driving past on 5th Avenue slowed to a crawl as they passed the blocked-off street, trying to get a glimpse of what was going on. Yellow police tape surrounded the front of two houses on the west side of the street, along with a portion of the alleys on either side. In the afternoon, officers could be seen walking from one house, across the street, and through the yard of another.
In a release, Regina police said they were called out to a home on the 1000 block of Princess Street around 11 a.m. for a report of a weapon and a man who was hurt. The man was pronounced dead in hospital.
As of Tuesday evening, officers were trying to confirm the identity of the man, and contact his next-of-kin.
