Jerid Cole Azure, 27, is facing second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a man on Princess Street Tuesday in Regina.
Regina police have now identified the victim as 56-year-old Andre Joseph Aubertin.
Officers were called out to a report of a weapon and a critically injured man at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. Aubertin died after being taken to the hospital.
An investigation by major crimes and the forensics team Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of Azure.
Azure, who is from Fort Qu’Appelle, appeared in Provincial Court in Regina on second-degree murder charges Wednesday morning.
He remains in custody and will be back in court on April 6 at 9:30 a.m.
