2nd day of advance voting smoother in Saskatoon

Wednesday saw the second day of advance voting in the Saskatchewan provincial election.
 
Reports indicated big lineups and long waits at some polls Tuesday. Those issues appeared to have lessened by Wednesday.
 
At the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on 33rd Street West, most people said they didn’t have too long to wait. About 30 people were lined up shortly after the polling station opened at 3 p.m.
 
“It was okay, it was about a 20 minute wait. But other than that it wasn’t too bad,” said Ed Badrock on his way out from voting.
 
Although he said he was in-and-out of the polling station within about 15 minutes, voter Mark Nazar said he found the advance poll still took longer than previous times when he’s voted on election day.
 
“I don’t think I’ll do this again, advance polls … if they’d have had maybe more tables, then maybe it would have went faster. That’s the problem, I think: not enough people running the tables,” he said.
 
Gordon Mitchell said it took him about half an hour to vote. But, he was fine with the wait.
 
“Too many people have lost their lives for us not to vote. My parents were in the Second World War and the Korean War. So I figure you’ve got to get out and vote, otherwise it was a waste,” he said.
