Mark Messier is her distant cousin, but this Sask. hockey product is carving her own path.
If the latest Mainstreet poll is any indication, the Saskatchewan Party will be winning a majority government Monday night.
The final poll released before the election has the Sask. Party at 54 per cent support, with the NDP trailing behind at 28 per cent. The poll has a margin of error +/- 2.72 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
Mainstreet Research is insisting this is the easiest election its ever had to call.
“It’s really easy to call this one just because we haven’t seen any significant event, any significant controversies from Brad Wall,” explained David Valentine with Mainstreet Research.
“It’s been dry, maybe not as exciting as some people would like.”
He suggested this province could be the new Alberta, a province that saw a dominant Progressive Conservative Party rule with majority governments for years, while the other parties simply battled it out to become the Official Opposition.
The research firm said the Sask. Party is on cruise control for a victory. All it has to is make sure candidates don’t open their mouths and say the wrong thing, Valentine added.
