The greens at the Tor Hill Golf Course look more like whites.
After getting snow Thursday night, the opening of the Regina course is being delayed until Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
“Out at Tor Hill, it snowed a little bit more than in the city. So we wake up and as you can see it’s totally white,” explained pro manager Scott Knapp.
The course had intended to open up Friday morning but the snowfall had covered much of the greens and fairways. Knapp said in terms of preparation they’re right where they want to be, it’s just a matter of that snow melting.
“The golf course has already been prepped, the greens are cut [and] the fairways. So, it’s just a matter of mother nature co-operating and we’re off to the races.”
The interest among golfers is already there. Knapp said the course is already booked full, and they expect a full contingent of golfers over the weekend if the forecast holds up.
