A Regina man is facing charges of confinement, assault and drug trafficking after a woman phoned police for help Saturday morning.
The call came in just before 11 a.m. The woman was inside a home on the 100 block of McKee Crescent. When officers arrived, the 18-year-old woman was able to them she had been assaulted and was initially prevented from leaving the house.
The woman knew the man who had assaulted her. She told police that she believed he had a gun and body armour.
Police were eventually able to take the man into custody. Officers then searched the home and recovered body armour, ammunition, brass knuckles and cocaine.
Cisokwa Chipanshi, 25, is charged with assault, forcible confinement, unauthorized possession of brass knuckles, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and mischief under $5,000.
