A new Canada Revenue scam is making the rounds this tax season.
Saskatoon police said reports have come in of people receiving threatening phone calls over a made-up story about debt repayment.
Police said the caller uses aggressive language to try and scare the person into paying off a fictitious amount of money.
In a few recent cases, the caller demanded payment in the form of iTunes gift cards.
The victim then gives the authorization codes from the cards to the suspect.
Police encourage people to report all types of scams and attempted fraud online or by contacting the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
